The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Nagpur, launched a saturation campaign for re-KYC and financial inclusion schemes at Deekshabhoomi on 21 October 2026, the Ministry of Finance said through PIB. The nationwide campaign runs until 31 December 2026.

What the re-KYC campaign covers
The campaign is being carried out under the directions of the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance, and the RBI, PIB said. It aims to strengthen financial inclusion by helping customers complete re-KYC and C-KYC, register nominations, access social security schemes and learn about digital frauds. The public has been asked to make sure re-KYC is completed for their accounts with their latest address and identity proof, by visiting their nearest bank branch or Business Correspondent during the campaign period. KYC stands for Know Your Customer, the identity check banks use; re-KYC is the periodic update of those details on an existing account.

RBI Nagpur at Deekshabhoomi
The campaign was inaugurated by Sachin Y Shende, Regional Director, RBI Nagpur, in the presence of Anjana Shyamnath, Deputy General Manager of the Financial Inclusion and Development Department and Consumer Education and Protection Cell at RBI Nagpur, and Arup Patra, Zonal Manager of Bank of India, the lead bank for Nagpur district, PIB said. Shende highlighted the importance of completing re-KYC to keep banking services available and accounts running smoothly. He also spoke about the transformative role of social security schemes in giving financial protection and improving beneficiaries’ lives. Deekshabhoomi, a Nagpur landmark that draws lakhs of visitors and devotees for Dhammachakra Pravartan Diwas, gave a platform to reach a large audience, the ministry said.
Financial inclusion messages and outreach
At the RBI stall, messages on financial awareness, re-KYC and social security schemes were shown on an LED screen, and audio messages on re-KYC were played every hour over the public address system, according to PIB. Notebooks with financial awareness messages, pamphlets and refreshments such as poha were distributed to thousands of visitors. The release did not give a target number of accounts for the campaign. PIB said the campaign is nationwide, so customers in other cities can also approach their own banks during the same period. Customers who have received re-KYC requests from their banks can use the campaign window to update details at a branch or through a Business Correspondent, which the ministry said would ensure the continued availability of banking services. The release was issued by PIB Mumbai on behalf of the Ministry of Finance on 22 October.
