What Rajeev Kumar Sharma said at the Rajasthan Police Academy

Sharma said the day was a chance to remember brave personnel who gave their lives on duty and to draw inspiration from their courage, dedication and sacrifice. He recalled that it marks the police personnel killed defending the country in the remote terrain of Ladakh on 21 October 1959. Between 1 September 2025 and 31 August 2026, 154 police personnel across the country made the supreme sacrifice on duty, he said. Retired DGP Kapil Garg, ADG Raghavendra Suhasa, academy director Sanjeev Kumar Narzary and Jaipur Police Commissioner Sachin Mittal were among those who laid flowers. The DGP and senior officers also planted saplings, and a blood donation camp on the campus collected 49 units. He said the day stands for the highest traditions of the police and an unshakeable commitment to duty.
