A new urban Ayushman Arogya Mandir opened at Ganesh Guwadi in Panchsheel, Ajmer, on 20 October 2026, giving residents free tests, treatment and medicines for common illnesses close to home, the Rajasthan government’s DIPR said. Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani said it is the 10th such centre to start in the Ajmer North constituency.

What the Ayushman Arogya Mandir offers
The centre will provide check-ups, treatment and medicines free of cost for colds, coughs, diabetes, blood pressure and other common conditions. It will also offer maternal and child health services, screening and treatment of non-communicable diseases, and health counselling. One doctor, two nursing staff and paramedical staff have been posted there, and an annual budget of Rs 25 lakh has been allotted. The aim is to bring these services close to people’s homes, the release said. Devnani said administrative and financial approval of Rs 1.155 crore had been received under the National Health Mission to set up and run four urban Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, including Rs 28.875 lakh for the Ganesh Guwadi centre.

Ajmer North target: 12 centres, 10 now running
Devnani said 12 new urban Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are to be set up in Ajmer North. Nine had already started, Ganesh Guwadi is the 10th, and the remaining two will open soon, he said. The new centre was started at the demand of local residents, and medical facilities have also been increased at the urban community health centre in Panchsheel. Devnani said it is the aim of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma that every person stays healthy and that everyone gets easy access to good-quality healthcare. The centres are meant to strengthen primary health services in urban areas so that patients do not have to travel far for basic care.

JLN Hospital upgrades and other health services
Speaking about wider work in Ajmer, Devnani said a seven-storey super speciality block is being built at JLN Hospital, the largest hospital in the division, at a cost of Rs 190 crore. Once ready, it will offer more specialist services and reduce the need for patients to go outside the state for treatment. A robotic surgery facility costing Rs 18 crore has started at the hospital, and a 24-hour Speaker helpdesk there has helped more than 15,000 patients so far. He said the Kotra satellite hospital now sees more than 400 outpatients a day, all dispensaries in Ajmer North have X-ray facilities, and three new ambulances have been provided from the MLA fund, one of which was recently handed to the Red Cross Society.
