ENHYPEN met World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus in Korea this week to celebrate their blood donation campaign with the UN health agency, UN News reported on 23 October 2026.

What ENHYPEN did with WHO
The K-pop band’s six members, Jungwon, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo and Ni-ki, worked with WHO on World Blood Donor Day in June. The campaign used music, social media and the band’s global fan community, known as ENGENE, to encourage voluntary, unpaid blood donation. When the band joined the campaign in June, members visited a local Red Cross centre in Korea to give blood themselves, UN News said. They also helped WHO promote the drive through videos and social media messages about why blood donations matter. UN News described Tedros as a self-confessed fan of the band, who got the chance to tell them so in person during the meeting. The members said they were grateful to see fans from all around the world take part.

Drop Your Drop: the World Blood Donor Day numbers
According to WHO, the Drop Your Drop campaign has received more than 9,000 pledges to donate blood from 177 countries. More than 3,250 of those pledges came from ENHYPEN fans. “The last campaign was a great success, reaching millions of people,” Tedros said, adding that ENHYPEN and ENGENE have the real power to influence the world. He said he was proud of all the members’ commitment and their collaboration with WHO to promote blood donation and save lives. WHO has long promoted voluntary, unpaid donation as the safest basis for a blood supply, and World Blood Donor Day is marked every June to thank donors.
What Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and the band said
“Blood is the most precious gift that anyone can give to another person, the gift of life,” Tedros said on Friday. The band said they launched the campaign hoping their fans would join them and were grateful to see ENGENEs from all around the world taking part. “We hope to continue creating meaningful change together with our fans,” the members said. UN News published a photo of Tedros taking a selfie with the band members to mark the partnership. The meeting is a rare example of a global health agency teaming up with a pop group, using fan networks to carry a public health message to young people in many countries. WHO said the Drop Your Drop campaign continues, and fans and others can still pledge to donate blood. The partnership began in June with the band’s own donation at a Red Cross centre.
