Voter turnout through the day

Turnout stood at 15.02 per cent by 10 am, 33.12 per cent by 1 pm, 49.45 per cent by 3 pm and 68.35 per cent by 6 pm, before reaching the final 69.41 per cent, the officer said. The second phase covered 81 wards of the Amarsar, Amer, Jalsu, Rampura Dabri and Shahpura Panchayat Samitis, along with Zila Parishad wards 11 to 14 and 51 to 57. A total of 413 polling stations were set up for this phase. During polling, Nayak made surprise visits to polling stations in five Panchayat Samitis, including Achrol, Shahpura, Peeplod Narayan and Radawas, and checked water, power, sanitation and security arrangements. Turnout rose by about one percentage point between the 6 pm figure and the final count. He appealed to voters to vote without fear and thanked them for strengthening the democratic tradition.

Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti polls continue

The panchayati raj general elections of 2026 are being held in phases across Rajasthan. On Wednesday, State Election Commissioner Rajeshwar Singh reviewed arrangements for the fourth phase at a meeting in Jaisalmer. He told officials to make sure every voter can vote freely and without fear, to follow the commission’s guidelines strictly, and to complete arrangements for polling and counting on time. He asked for drinking water, power, toilets and ramps at all polling stations, enough security, and extra vigilance at sensitive and critical booths. The release did not give the counting date for the Jaipur second phase. He also stressed timely arrival of polling parties at their destinations and proper training of polling staff on their duties. Rajasthan’s panchayati raj system has three tiers: gram panchayats, panchayat samitis at the block level and zila parishads at the district level.

Why It Matters: Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad members decide on rural roads, water and welfare spending, so turnout shows how engaged villages are in local government.
