The Sports Authority of India (SAI) Regional Centre, Gandhinagar, organised the 96th edition of Fit India Sundays on Cycle at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, 25 October 2026, with cyber security as the central theme, PIB said.

How the 96th Sundays on Cycle ride was held
The event was organised with the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA). The cycling rally was flagged off from Gate No. 1 of the stadium and ended at the Decathlon Sports campus, covering about 3.5 kilometres, according to the release. A large number of young participants took part. Team India para-cyclist Geeta Rao attended as the special guest, while Everester and Fit India brand ambassador Nisha Kumari also joined in and encouraged people to take up an active lifestyle. The programme opened with a Zumba session, followed by chess, foosball, Ludo, badminton, volleyball and other recreational activities, so that participants could mix fitness with play and meet others from the community. The release said the event promoted cycling, physical fitness, cyber security awareness, inclusivity and community participation.

Fit India games zone and cyber security awareness
A dedicated Fit India Games Zone was set up at the venue, where participants played traditional Indian games. The cyber security theme was used to remind riders and families to stay alert and responsible in the digital world, alongside the fitness message. The release did not give an exact count of the participants who took part in Ahmedabad.
A weekly ride run across all states
Fit India Sundays on Cycle was launched by Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr Mansukh Mandaviya in December 2024. It is run by the Sports Authority of India under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, together with the Cycling Federation of India, the Navavrati Foundation, Fitspire, the Centre for Integrative Health, MY Bharat and other partners. According to PIB, the ride is held at the same time across all states and Union Territories, including at SAI Regional Centres, National Centres of Excellence, SAI Training Centres, Khelo India State Centres of Excellence and Khelo India Centres. The ministry said the 96th edition brought cycling, traditional games and public awareness together on one platform. The Ahmedabad edition was handled by the SAI Regional Centre in Gandhinagar.
